FINE Gael councillor Sarah Kiely has quizzed the Council on submitting a funding application for improvement works to the church at Mount St Laurence Cemetery.

Senior Engineer Aidan Finn told Cllr Kiely that an application has not so far been submitted to the Department as a conservation specialist is required to advise on the appropriate method of restoration works for the chapel and costs associated with same.

“The Council are in the process of engaging this conservation specialist and once costs and specific works have been identified, an application will be made to the Department for funding of these works,” he explained.
