Fine Gael councillor seeks update on council commitment on installing Eircodes on public parks

Fine Gael councillor Sarah Kiely

FINE Gael councillor Sarah Kiely asked Limerick City and County Council about its progress on installing Eircodes on playgrounds and public parks after a commitment was given in the last term.

Senior Engineer Aidan Finn said at this month’s Metropolitan District meeting that the Council has consulted with the National Ambulance Service on the matter.

“The preferred method of contact, and that being used by the National Ambulance Service, is where a member of the public contacts the emergency services, the Ambulance Service responds by texting back the caller, allowing the location of the caller to be made known to the Ambulance Service,” Mr Finn said.
