DOWNE’S EUROSPAR in Rathkeale recently announced that the Rathkeale Boxing Club was to benefit from a €1,000 presentation from the local community retailer, after the club was unveiled as one of the winners of EUROSPAR’s nationwide ‘Let’s Celebrate Community’ campaign.
Rathkeale Boxing Club currently has more than 60 male and female boxers.
Since it reopened in 2002, the club has won numerous county and Munster titles as well as 105 All-Ireland gold, silver, and bronze titles.
Two years ago, it was named top club in Ireland.
The club was nominated in the ‘Let’s Celebrate Community’ initiative by a member of the public and the club’s coaches are all volunteers.
