MUNSTER will aim to make it two wins from as many starts in the Women’s Internprovinical Championship when holders Leinster are visitors to Virgin Media Park, Cork on Saturday (4.45pm).

Fiona Hayes’ side overcame Ulster (29-22) at the same venue over the weekend.

Reflecting on the opening round victory, Kate Flannery told munsterrugby.ie: “We’re definitely happy enough to get the bonus point win from the game.

“There were a lot of glimpses of what we can do, but we also learnt a lot about ourselves in terms of what we need to work on in the coming weeks.

“We’re just excited to get back training and work on what we need to do.”

A definite plus for the Munster side is another home fixture.

“I think that when you’re in Cork you always know you’re at home, the crowd is just unreal,” Flannery said.

“At the end, seeing how much people are out to support us will definitely play a part when we’re playing Leinster. When things are getting tough and they’re getting on top of us, to know that there is the support behind us is just class.”

Last week, Alana McInerney (UL Bohemian) grabbed a superb hat-trick as Munster opened their Women’s Inter-provinical Championship with a tidy 29-22 defeat of Ulster at Virgin Media Park, Cork.

Munster were 22-5 ahead at the interval, and the opposition were reduced to 14 players for the closing half.

McInerney’s clubmates Chloe Pearse, captain, and Chisom Ugwueru also touched down for five pointers, while another Bohs star, Kate Flannery, landed a couple of conversions.

Claire Bennett (UL Bohemian) was selected as Player of the Match.
