ONCE again, there were no properties available to rent in Limerick City Centre in June for those in receipt of the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP).

That’s according to the latest Locked Out of the Market report by the Simon Community, which showed just 43 homes available to those on the HAP scheme nationwide for the entire month.

In Limerick City Suburbs, the Simon research report found just one HAP-eligible home available – described as a 100 per cent increase on the previous period.

The majority of HAP eligible properties (all but three) were located across Dublin City (40), with the only others in Dundalk (1) and Kildare (1).

The HAP scheme is run nationally by Limerick City and County Council on behalf of the 31 local authorities.
