OVER 2,000 additional Limerick teenagers have been included in the child benefit payment after the extension of the scheme this past May to include teens aged 18.
That’s according to Limerick TD and Higher Education Minister Patrick O’Donovan, who welcomed the fact that payment is being received for an additional 2,358 teens across Limerick under extension.
Child benefit payments of €140 per month are now paid to anyone who is 18 and in full-time education, or who has a disability, up until their 19th birthday Minister O’Donovan said the increased remit of the payment will “help families considerably with managing the cost of living, as well as returning to school expenses, transport and related costs”.
