A POPULAR sporting attraction in Limerick is to temporarily close to undergo some essential upgrade works, Limerick City and County Council has confirmed.
The Limerick Regional Athletics Hub in Newcastle West will be closed from August 12 to 26 in order to facilitate these essential works.
The hub features an eight-lane synthetic athletics track, field facilities, and a surrounding walking path, and has been a valuable resource for athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and the local community.
The Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the closure, saying it is looking forward to welcoming back members of the public to the upgraded facilities once the works are completed.
