Council to write to Department of Integration over communication around proposed international protection accommodation centres in city

FIANNA Fáil councillor Catherine Slattery has questioned Limerick City and County Council on steps taken by Government to inform local residents and traders about the proposed use of River House on Charlotte’s Quay and the former Roadbridge unit on the Ballysimon Road outside Limerick City as proposed emergency accommodation for international protection applicants.

Cllr Slattery has urged the local authority to contact the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, Youth on the matter.

The Council told the Fianna Fáil councillor that it will write to the Department to ask what steps have been taken.
