BUNRATTY Castle and Folk Park will be shown to an audience of over 300,000 people after an independent TV film crew visited the attraction last month.

The Mid West tourist attraction will be screened to over 300,000 people across Australia as part of a new show, titled Journey to Europe, fronted by travel journalist and presenter David Whitehill.

The medieval castle and 26-acre folk park will air on the Nine Network in Australia, which is one of the country’s five main free-to-air channels, as well as its on-demand streaming service, 9Now, in October.

The show will also feature on Singapore Airlines in-flight entertainment system for six months.

Erin Malone, assistant sales and marketing manager at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, said that the show will bring Bunratty to a wider audience.

“We were delighted to facilitate the production team as they embarked on a filming trip across the Wild Atlantic Way to highlight the West of Ireland’s rich history and culture, fantastic culinary experiences, and stunning landscapes,” she explained.

“This show will attract a significant audience for Bunratty in an important market for the Irish tourism sector,” she added.

“The timing of the programme’s airing could not be better as people across Australia plan their overseas holiday for 2025.”
