DESPITE a reduction in solar grants, people across Limerick are buying and installing more solar panels than ever, according to new SEAI figures.
Limerick saw a 26 per cent increase in new solar panel installations between April and June this year, with 528 new installations erected.
Commenting on the positive figures, and the €2million spent on solar property upgrades in Limerick alone, EnergyEfficiency.ie managing director James Dorrian said: “There were concerns that the grant reduction would have an effect on solar installation figures – however these figures show that demand remains strong as homeowners look to slash their electricity bills.”
