ONE local family donated €25,000 to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT) after the charity helped bring home their beloved son after he passed away in a tragic road accident in Canada.

The parents of John Lyne, Theresa and Pat, as well as John’s sister Claire and brother-in-law Ken made the generous donation to the charitable repatriation organisation.

Colin and Eithne Bell, parents of the late Kevin, visited Limerick for the donation ceremony at Fairview FC.

Mr Lyne’s family said that the donation ceremony was bittersweet, but that they will take comfort “in knowing that the funds raised … will go a long way to supporting other families in getting their loved ones home at a time they most need support”.
