A PAST president of Network Ireland Limerick has had a company she helped create accepted into a prestigious national accelerator programme.

Tourmata, co-founded by Cratloe’s Caragh O’Shea, Conor Wade from Sixmilebridge, and Micheál O’Sé, originally from Dingle but living in Nenagh, has been accepted onto the NDRC Accelerator programme.

The company helps tour group operators streamline their planning process and make trips easier to organise.

The idea for the company originally came about as the three university friends chatted about travelling over a takeaway one evening.

The trio quickly realised they all had different backgrounds and skillsets to bring to the table, with Conor being a successful software developer and co-founder of golfing community and booking platform Chronogolf, Caragh a former general manager of a sports tour operator and former president of Network Ireland Limerick, and Micheál a project manager in the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry.

Conor explained that the group “met over a takeaway and started talking about travelling”.

“We realised that there was a gap in the market for a platform that could streamline the planning process for group tour operators. We saw an opportunity to create something that would make it easier for them to manage their trips, reducing stress and increasing efficiency,” he said.

Tourmata recently became one of seven companies to be accepted onto the NDRC Accelerator programme, powered by Dogpatch Labs.

Tourmata co-founder Caragh O’Shea said that trio “were thrilled to be selected from over 300 companies to be one of the final seven companies in the NDRC Accelerator Programme”.

Micheál O’Sé said that “we’re excited to continue growing our business and making it easier for group tour operators to plan and execute successful trips. Our passion for travel has led us on an incredible journey, and we’re grateful to have such a supportive community behind us.”
