A LIMERICK city pub that closed earlier this year is set to reopen under new management.

The Still House on Thomas Street closed in February after the company that were leasing it went into liquidation.

Now, it has been confirmed that the city centre establishment will reopen under the management of Elite Hospitality Ltd, which owns multiple venues including The Silvermine in North Tipperary.

Danny Corbett and Dean Foley are behind the plans to once again open the doors of the popular Limerick City pub, with big plans for the local establishment, a favourite of many city residents on match days, once the grand reopening takes place.

Both Mr Corbett and Mr Foley say they are “passionate” about redefining and reviving the nighttime economy and the tourist industry across Ireland.

In a statement, Elite Hospitality said it was delighted to reopen The Still House, especially at a time when over 2,000 pubs have closed in the last 20 years.

“Limerick is a vibrant and exciting city of culture which we can’t wait to be a part of,” the company said.

“We are delighted to announce the re-opening of the Still House Bar in a time we are more often hearing about bars closing rather than opening. From live music seven nights a week, to festivals and events we have big plans for Limerick,” the statement from Elite Hospitality said.
