GARDAÍ are investigating after an early morning break in at one of the flagship stores on the main thoroughfare in Limerick City.
The Brown Thomas store on O’Connell Street in Limerick City Centre was broken into in the early hours of this Wednesday morning, with a number of items reported as having been stolen.
It is understood that the burglar gained entry to the upmarket luxury retailer by smashing a large hole in the window facing onto the Little William Street laneway in the early hours of Tuesday morning, before making their escape with a number of items from the store.
The small laneway street, cutting between William Street and Thomas Street, was closed off by investigating Gardaí in the hours after the break in.
A statement An Garda Síochána said that “Gardaí are investigating a burglary that occurred at a retail premises in Limerick City that occurred this morning, Wednesday the 17th July at approximately 4am.
A Garda spokesman said that “investigations are ongoing” into the break-and-entry burglary, but so far “no arrests have been made”.
