OASIS legend Liam Gallagher is bringing his electrifying “Definitely Maybe” 30th Anniversary Tour to Thomond Park, Limerick this Sunday July 14. This tour is a nostalgic celebration of Oasis’s iconic debut album, and Gallagher’s performance promises to transport fans straight back to the 90s.
The tour kicked off in the UK where Gallagher delivered a powerhouse performance with a six piece band and backing singers.
Liam’s rendition of Half The World Away is dedicated to Liam’s brother Noel, whose image appears on screen during the gig. With the universal love for this tour gathering momentum, could we see a reunion tour for (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? in the near future, maybe with the older Gallagher getting in on the act.
The set list is a homage to the legendary album, featuring all the classic tracks that defined a generation with some choice B-Sides and rarities – ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’, ‘Live Forever’, ‘Supersonic’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, to name but a few. But it is also a rare opportunity to see other album tracks that have rarely, if ever, been performed since the mid-‘90s, including ‘Up In The Sky’ and ‘Digsy’s Dinner’.
And there are numerous fan favourites that could be performed from the other songs that were released during the ‘Definitely Maybe’ era, which could potentially include another big hit in the shape of ‘Whatever’ as well as deep cuts such as ‘Fade Away’, ‘Listen Up’ and ‘Sad Song’.
Gallagher’s tour has been met with rave reviews, with fans praising the raw energy and passion he brings to each performance. The Guardian called it “a triumphant return to the glory days of Britpop,” while NME described the show as “a masterclass in rock ‘n’ roll revival, delivered by one of its greatest icons.”
The Definitely Maybe 30th Anniversary Deluxe Editions will be released on August 30. The new releases of Definitely Maybe feature brand new artwork by the original art designer Brian Cannon for Microdot and original sleeve photographer Michael Spencer Jones, plus new sleeve notes from Creation Records boss Alan McGee.
The album also includes an unreleased demo version of Sad Song. Thirty years on, Definitely Maybe, remains an unprecedented classic, including the singles Supersonic, Shakermaker, Live Forever and Cigarettes & Alcohol as well as tracks such as Rock ‘n’ Roll Star and Slide Away which have become ubiquitous global anthems.
Loved by legions of fans and an inspiration for countless bands, it is as relevant as ever and continues to find new devotees in younger generations with Oasis being one of the most universally loved and influential rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time.

Following signing their first record deal, Oasis decamped to Monnow Valley studios on the Welsh borders of Monmouthshire, to capture the kinetic energy of their live shows on record. At the time, the initial recordings felt overly technical and polished, failing to capture the essence of the band. The sessions were ultimately scrapped, and the band moved to the remote confines of Sawmills Studios in Cornwall to re-record the album. Eventually, with the addition of Owen Morris joining to complete the definitive mixes, Definitely Maybe was formed.
The Monnow Valley recordings and Sawmill outtakes, now unearthed for the first time, offer a new and compelling understanding of the process that led to the finished article. With its raw edges and restless energy, Definitely Maybe always sounded like an album that had arrived fully formed – however the newly revealed versions provide fans with a fascinating new insight into the album; demonstrating the self-belief that drove the early years of Oasis and the determination it took to create their debut. Shelved until now, revisiting the archive 30 years on signifies the importance of the recording process in telling the story of the uneasy creation of one of the most vital albums of all time.
