THE IRISH Blood Transfusion Service has sent out the call in Limerick about a number of upcoming blood donation clinics.
The blood drive comes as a pre-amber alert has been issued to all Irish hospitals over low blood stocks.
According to the service, if the situation escalates to an amber alert, there will be an impact on hospitals and elective surgeries requiring blood support.
The upcoming clinics take place at the Pallasgreen Community Centre on July 11 (4.50pm to 8.10pm), the Caherdavin Greenhills Hotel on July 16 (4.20pm to 7.10pm), and the Crescent Shopping Centre on July 17 and 18 (3.50pm to 7.10pm).
