David Holmes, Donal Dineen’s Backstory and Gallagher After Party this weekend

A Limerick favourite, Donal Dineen brings Backstory to the Record Room for the first time this Saturday July 13.

THE Sevens series invites some of the most prolific and enduring artists in electronic music to The Record Room.

Upcoming for this weekend is David Holmes, Donal Dineen’s Backstory and Liam Gallagher After Party with DJ Paul Gallagher (Liam’s brother).

Donal Dineen’s Backstory Dances have gone from strength to strength since their beginning, with four years of sold out club shows and a series of acclaimed curations on stages all across Irish festivals behind him.

With an already-established reputation as one of the country’s best DJs, and wanting to find a home and dancefloor for the kind of music he was unearthing in record stores worldwide, Backstory began in 2015, inspired by the records he was finding and writing about for his Sunken Treasure column in the Irish Times.

The night quickly became a place for the like-minded to revel in that music, and in the uniquely special experience of discovering it together on a dance-floor. The attention to detail on the quality of the music has seen the night’s reputation grow, as it become a touchstone for curious and discerning dancers across the country.

To close the weekend, Paul Gallagher hosts an exclusive After Party following brother Liam Gallagher’s July 14  Limerick date on the 30th anniversary tour of Oasis’s Definitely Maybe.

Liam Gallagher announced the tour in December of last year, with Limerick one of three Irish cities to host the front man performing the ‘Definitely Maybe’ album in full for the first time, and with the Record Room welcoming tour DJ and eldest Gallagher brother Paul for a late night post-show celebration after the stadium show. Paul is a DJ, photographer and promoter who has toured with Liam for a decade.

Alongside shooting and directing music promos, he also hosts a weekly Mixcloud radio show. Paul plays the official ‘Definitely Maybe’ afterparty on Sunday July 14 with support from Mick Cronin.
