LEDP, a catalyst for positive change in Limerick for 25 years

LIMERICK Enterprise Development Partnership (LEDP) is an organisation synonymous with Limerick’s transformation over the past 25 years.

Since the closure of Krups and the subsequent establishment of LEDP as a not-for-profit, independently funded charity in 1999, the organisation has assumed a leadership role in promoting and leading for social advancement.

Using its revenue generated by the former factory building, LEDP, through its annual Impact Fund, invests in diverse community projects across Limerick’s most disadvantages communities.

In addition, it facilitates job creation and pre-employment preparation, advocacy, training, and education provision.

The LEDP Campus has continued to develop and accelerate its progress into a hive of entrepreneurial and innovative activities over the past five years. The campus now boasts over 2,000 training places with LCETB activities spanning hospitality and NZEB training courses, a unique partnership with UL in supporting the AccessCampus homework support project, charities such as Blue Box and Irish Wheelchair Association, and Virgin Media Ireland has its long-established National Customer Experience Centre on site. Reflecting on the positive influence that LEDP has on its community, CEO Niall O’Callaghan said “we must ensure that the people and communities of Limerick are given every opportunity to excel; to innovate and work; to experience inclusivity; to be future leaders and advocates; to lay the foundations of a prosperous life; and to feel real pride in themselves and their communities.”

LEDP was created by those representing the people of Limerick and has had a significant impact in the community on many levels. Its ambition for the years to come goes further – to be a leading light in Limerick’s ongoing transformation.
