Local jockeys in top form at the Curragh

THREE local jockeys were in the winners’ enclosure on Derby Weekend at the Curragh.

Chris Hayes of Shanagolden won the opening seven-furlong juvenile aboard Hazdann. Trained by Dermot Weld, the Aga Khan owned 10/1 chance kept on strongly to win by a neck.

Ballingarry’s Billy Lee was also amongst the winners, partnering Arnaman to win the seven-furlong maiden. Trained by Ken Condon, the 11/10f prevailed by a length in the colours of Robert Ng.

Lee also rode 22/1 outsider Amazon Lady to win the five-furlong premier handicap.

Trained by Willie McCreery, the Madeline Burns owned filly made all to win by one-and-a-half lengths.

Wesley Joyce, Moyross, piloted the Johnny Feane trained Indigo Five to win the seven-furlong fillies premier handicap on Derby Day. The Ray McSharry owned 11/1 chance kept on late to score by a head.
