THE Ennis Road Community First Responders are a voluntary group based on the north side of Limerick city working with the National Ambulance Service assisting in pre hospital medical care.

Specialising in stroke, choking, cardiac arrest and heart attacks, the group consists of over 30 volunteers who give their time to train and upskill so that they arrive on scene treating the patient with the upmost care before the ambulance arrives.

This week, the Ennis Road CFR hosted a training in their headquarters in Cleeve’s with Limerick Red Cross. Also in attendance were Templeglantine CFR from County Limerick.

Robert Simring, one of the founder’s of the Ennis Road CFR, who organized this evening with Andrew Kelly (LRC) said “it was a fantastic evening filled with learning, upskilling, training and a bite to eat thanks to a number of businesses in Limerick who generously sponsored us with provisions – in particular Nancy Blake’s, the Woodfield House Hotel, and Seamus Butler Butchers.”
