Limerick student graduates from hardware retail certificate programme

A LIMERICK student has received his certificate for successfully completing the Hardware Association Ireland Certificate in Hardware Retail and Merchanting.

Trevor Mann, from McMahons Builders Providers, received his certificate of completion, along with mentor Shane O’Dwyer, branch manager of McMahons Limerick.

The Hardware Association Ireland (HAI) graduation ceremony took place at their offices in Rathcoole, Dublin, which marked the end of the students’ nine months of work and on-the job training.

The HAI certificate in Hardware Retail and Merchanting is a programme designed to help employees in the industry gain the essential skills and knowledge required to have successful careers within the sector.

The curriculum covers critical areas such as customer service, sales techniques, product knowledge, and operational efficiency.

Aoife Kinsella O’Reilly, co-ordinator of the HAI certificate, commended all the graduates on their achievements saying that “we are immensely proud of this year’s graduates.

The programme was sponsored for the third year by building products manufacturers group, Octabuild.

The certificate includes specially designed product knowledge modules across all areas of hardware, including heating and plumbing, paint products, insulation, roofing products, timber products and cement delivered by Octabuild members from Dulux Paints, Etex Ireland, Glennon Brothers, Grant Engineering, Gyproc, Irish Cement, Kingspan Insulation, and Wavin Ireland.
