Limerick pupils show prized community spirit

LIMERICK Enterprise Development Partnership (LEDP) announced St Mary’s NS on King’s Island, and Thomond Primary School, Ballynanty, as the winners of its Community Pride Video Competition.

An inspiring DEIS primary schools contest that showcases the creativity and community spirit of students across Limerick’s most disadvantaged areas, it was organised by LEDP as part of its 25th anniversary programme of events.

The winning entries came from St Mary’s NS on King’s Island, and Thomond Primary School, Ballynanty, who both received €2,000 towards IT equipment for their school. Le Cheile NS, Galvone, and Scoil Iosagain CBS Sexton Street were both highly commended, receiving €500 each.
