PATRICKSWELL overcame Tournafulla in a thrilling contest, 1-15 to 0-16, to win the Limerick Junior Hurling League title at Kilmallock’s Fitzgerald Park.

The only goal arrived early on from the impressive Kieran Long.

Nothing much ever separated the teams in the opening half, after which they retired level, 1-7 to 0-10.

Cian Gorman notched two late points for the ‘Well in that half.

For much of the second half, the teams were tied, but the city outfit came good in the later stages with quality points from top-scorer Eoin Harmon (0-9), Shane Hannon and Gormon to clinch the honours.

Tour’s Eoin Collins caught the eye with a nine-point haul.

The ageless Barry Foley featured at full-back for the winners, who are serious contenders for Championship honours later in the year.
