YOUNG Limerick environmentalists were highly commended for their project at the ECO-UNESCO Young Environmentalist Awards.
The students from Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh received the accolade for their project that helps people identify a company’s impact on the environment and make informed purchasing decisions.
The Young Environmentalist Awards recognise students who are tackling issues in relation to climate change and biodiversity loss. Elaine Nevin, national director of ECO-UNESCO said that “since the Young Environmentalist Awards began 25 years ago, we’ve seen the programme go from strength to strength each year. I’m so impressed by the number of projects and the high standard this year.”
