THE University of Limerick (UL) was ranked in 61st place out of 1,963 third-level institutions worldwide in the recent Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.

The rankings place UL 25 places higher than its position last year. The rankings measure the societal contribution by universities, in keeping with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

UL ranked in the top 50 in three individual sustainable development categories including: reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, and decent work and economic growth.

“This remarkable 25-place jump reflects the collective efforts of our entire community—from innovative teaching and pioneering research to our steadfast dedication to equality and fostering inclusivity”, said UL Provost and Deputy President Professor Shane Kilcommins, reflecting on the positive rankings boost for UL.
