By the Light of the Silvery Moon is a magical night of Irish stories

Aindrias de Staic presents a unique evening of storytelling, music, and folklore on Friday June 21.

WITH perfect timing for a long Irish summer night, Belltable will host a unique evening of storytelling, music, and folklore on Friday June 21 from 9.30pm. This magical event promises to be an unforgettable journey into the heart of Ireland’s rich narrative tradition.

Central to this extraordinary evening is Aindrias de Staic, a modern-day bard whose storytelling prowess has been honed through the influences of legendary Irish figures such as Raifterian File, Brian Merriman, and Aindrias Mac Cruitín. With his rustic violin and other instruments, Aindrias travels the roads of Ireland, sharing tales and short stories that captivate audiences everywhere.

Aindrias’ style is a lively and fast-paced reinterpretation of ancient Irish storytelling, deeply rooted in the traditions of the West of Ireland. His performances are inspired by folklore, nature, and the traditional arts, bringing to life stories of villages lost to the sea, the misadventures of wandering musicians, humorous recitations, abridged folkloric myths, and his own outrageous tales of otherworldly events.

By the Light of the Silvery Moon is a full sensory experience. Aindrias will be joined by guest musicians Aisling Lyons on the harp and Brian Fleming on percussion. Together, they will create a sonic soundscape that enhances and enriches each tale, adding layers of depth and emotion to the performance.

Aindrias de Staic is a critically acclaimed entertainer and some of our best storytellers are among his fanclub, Tommy Tiernan said, “He’s a waterboy seanchai, the pied piper of mischief. If he didn’t exist we’d have to invent him because the culture needs spirits like his, a wayward Irish fiddle playing dream talker”

He breathes new life into the old tales – infusing them with musicality, rhythm and his unique insights on life.”

Aindrias de Staic and his musical companions will transport you to a world where stories come to life under the silvery glow of the moon. Tickets €20.
