MATHESON, a law firm based in Dublin, has announced the winner of the 2024 Tim Scanlon Corporate Law Bursary – Limerick student Benedict Taaffe.

A fourth year economics student at the University of Limerick, Benedict wrote an essay titled ‘The Impact of AI on Corporate Governance – Opportunities and Risks for Boards?‘, winning himself a €5,000 bursary along with a place on Matheson’s summer internship programme, and, in appreciation of Tim Scanlon’s support of the arts, a piece by Irish artist Diana Copperwhite.

Reacting to his win, Benedict said the award is “both an affirmation of the work I have done and a catalyst for my future aspirations”.
