National Cycle Championships comes to Limerick

NEWCASTLE West Cycling Club are to host the Cycling Ireland Road National Championships from Thursday to Saturday this week (June 20 to 23), with Athea as headquarters.

The championships have attracted teams from around the world, and will involve many of our own who not compete abroad return home in pursuit of the coveted National Champions jersey.

Action gets underway with the Time Trial National Championships, over a distance of 36km, on Thursday, 6.30pm.

The routes for the road races will include an outer and an inner circuit.

The total distance for the Men’s race is 180km, and 120km for the Women’s race.
