A LIMERICK student was highly commended in the Oireachtas Essay Competition.
Ben Moloney, a sixth year student at Croom’s Coláiste Chiaráin, received the highly commended award for his essay based on the theme of parliamentary politics matters for peace.
The annual Oireachtas Essay Competition is sponsored by publishers Eason and schoolbook suppliers Folens and CJ Fallon.
The schools competition aims to get students interested in the political system, and was established on a 32 county basis, with essays welcome in Irish or English.
The Limerick student was presented with his highly commended award by competition convenor Senator Rónán Mullen in Dáil Éireann recently.
