Limerick Garda issues advice following handbag theft

Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Ber Leetch.

A LIMERICK crime prevention officer has issued a warning to women after a woman had her purse stolen from her handbag while shopping.

On Sunday, May 19, the lady was in the supermarket food section with her bag in her trolley.

Some time later, she noticed her bag was lying open and her purse was gone.

She immediately called the bank because her cards were in her purse and the bank were able to tell her that a transaction of €200 had already taken place.

“Ladies, wear a cross body bag if you must bring a bag” Sergeant Ber Leetch of Henry Street Garda Station advised.
