Heritage revival scheme to target the rejuvenation of Newcastle West heritage buildings

Limerick Fine Gael TD and Minister of State Patrick O'Donovan.

THE THRIVE Town Centre First Heritage Revival Scheme will target Newcastle West for rejuvenation of vacant or derelict heritage buildings in an effort to improve amenities in the town.

Part of the European Regional Development Fund Regional Programmes, the first tranche of THRIVE funding will be based on a town centre first approach to improve communal and social amenities.

Welcoming the funding announcement, local TD and Minister for Higher Education, Patrick O’Donovan, said that the project will facilitate “innovative ways of making the areas where we live, work, shop, and socialise better”.

“For Newcastle West and County Limerick, this is an exciting time. I think we all very much look forward to seeing projects come to fruition,” Minister O’Donovan concluded.
