OVER 300 students from Ireland and across the world will descend on Limerick this coming weekend for the TUS Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD) graduate fashion and design show.

The show will showcase the work of LSAD’s graduates and the next generation of artists and designers, ready to add a dash of colour to the world around them after four years of hard academic graft.

Hosted at the TUS LSAD Clare Street campus, the show opened today (June 1) at 1pm and runs until June 9.

Aoife Ruane, director of the Highlanes Municipal Art Gallery in Dundalk, will officially open the showcase, with a ceremony to include awards, prizes, and residencies, kicking off from 3pm.

The showcase will feature collections by graduating students, celebrating emerging talent and innovative design.

This year’s showcase will also see the second year of the Global Travel Award of €5,000 for a Fine Art graduate with the support of The Ireland Funds.

Mike Fitzpatrick, Dean of Limerick School of Art and Design and Director of Cultural Engagement at TUS, said that “every year it’s such a joy to walk around the show”.

“Please join us on Saturday June 1, or come along any day up to June 9, and take some time to enjoy the super creativity of our animators, filmmakers, fashion, graphic, ceramic, and interior designers and artists – there are many wonderful works to enjoy.”

The show will run from June 1 to 9, open to the public from 10am to 5pm each day.
