Hourigan wants to be a voice for Limerick in Europe

Labour Party European election candidate Niamh Hourigan.

NIAMH Hourigan is the Labour Party’s candidate for the upcoming European elections on June 7.

Niamh is a Limerick native, born and raised in Limerick City. Currently working in Mary Immaculate College and a mother of two, Niamh is a respected academic sociologist and has a proven track record as a champion of social inclusion and equality.

Niamh’s background, experience, and skills, she says, make her the ideal local candidate to represent the people of Limerick in Europe. Niamh believes Limerick and the Mid West deserve to have a strong voice in the European parliament, which she hopes will be her.

“There is no doubt we need representation from the Mid West in Europe to raise and act on our concerns,” a spokesperson for the Labour Party said.

“If elected, Niamh intends to bring local issues to the very heart of Europe and will actively work to endorse policies to benefit us locally. Her key priorities include affordable housing for all, a greener economy and protecting Irish neutrality.
