PARNELL Place Accommodation Services, a collaboration between RehabCare, the Health Service Executive, and Newgrove Housing Association, has been named winner of the Nursing Home/Residential Care Unit of the Year award at the Irish Healthcare Centre Awards 2024.
A spokesperson said that the national award “reflects Parnell Place’s commitment to providing person-centered care and fostering community inclusion for individuals”.
The Irish Healthcare Centre Awards took place on May 10 at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire. The ceremony brought together teams and professionals from across the national healthcare and disability sectors.
Gráinne Fogarty, RehabCare director, said that “being named Best Nursing Home/Residential Care Unit of the Year is a testament to our dedication to supporting individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges in living fulfilling lives within their community”.
“At Parnell Place, we believe in empowering residents to lead independent lives while providing the necessary support to ensure their safety and well-being.”
Parnell Place is comprised of fully accessible apartments with wet rooms, fob access, and assistive technology.
Communal gardens and nearby amenities provide opportunities for residents to engage in social activities and pursue their interests.
“Looking ahead, Parnell Place remains dedicated to supporting residents in achieving greater independence and autonomy while fostering community engagement initiatives,” Ms Fogarty said.
Plans for the future include expanding housing options and providing training and capacity building to support individuals with complex needs.
“Winning this prestigious award underscores our status as a leader in community-based care, dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals in the Limerick community. Congratulations to the team at RehabCare Parnell Place for this excellent achievement,” concluded Ms Fogarty.
