Limerick Minister welcomes government funding for community projects

LIMERICK Further Education Minister Patrick Oโ€™Donovan welcomed the news of significant government funding for a number of local community projects across the county.

โ‚ฌ680,805 was allocated to three groups in County Limerick under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

Garrienderk received โ‚ฌ250,000 to transform a derelict building in the village into a community centre.

Kilcornan was awarded โ‚ฌ223,805 to develop accessible walking trails with lighting, railings, benches, and bollards, and a ball sports wall at the community fields.

While Rathkeale received โ‚ฌ207,000 to the upgrade its community centre and local youth spaces, including building and roof repairs.

Welcoming the funding, Minister Oโ€™Donovan said that the allocation was โ€œanother great example of our government making a real difference in our rural towns and villages.โ€
