Limerick politicians pledge to help secure more government funding for Irish Heart Foundation

Willie O'Dea signed the pledge to help secure more government funding for the Irish Heart Foundation.

A NUMBER of local Limerick politicians have signed a pledge to join the “fight to help secure extra government funding” for the Irish Heart Foundation (IHF).

So says IHF campaigner and heart patient Pauline O’Shea, from Ardnacrusha, who invited the local representatives to sign the petition at a recent IHF event held in the Buswells Hotel in Dublin.

The pledge came on foot of the foundation’s call for greater funding, with Pauline saying the charity currently receives just 8.6 per cent of its total funding from the government.

It was signed by Limerick TDs Willie O’Dea and Maurice Quinlivan and Senator Maria Byrne.
