LIMERICK secured a brilliant weekend double at the All-Ireland Senior Scór Finals at a sold-out Gleneagle INEC in Killarney.

Scór is a division of the GAA which provides competition in traditional and culture across eight events.

Limerick were winners in Novelty Act (Banogue) and Figure Dancing (Crecora-Manister).

“To have one All-Ireland coming back to Limerick from Kerry would have been amazing, never mind two,” said a thrilled Veronica Callinan, Irish Officer of Limerick GAA.

“Both delivered their respective performances superbly.”

Ms Callinan explained that “Banogue hooked the audience from the beginning, with ‘McBreens Heifer’ (Percy French). The story about McBreen who had two daughters who were each offered in marriage to Jamesy O’Burn was captivating throughout.”

Mary Liston was singled out for praise.

The cast members were Kieran Larkin, Michael Larkin, Danielle Meade, Eilish Griffin, William Dore, Pearse Gavin, JP Costello, and Einne Hehir.

“The performance of Crecora-Manister was seamless in formations, complimented by sheer overall perfection and utterly poised footwork.”

The winners were under the guidance of Muirne Bennis.

Orla Byrnes, Heather Byrnes, Niamh Murphy, Aoife Gilmartin, Sara Gilmartin, Ella Wojnar, Róisín Musgrave and Bláithín Musgrave were on stage.
