STUDENTS and teachers at Limerick’s Villiers School were lauded for their work in global citizenship education.
The school received the Gold Special Passport Award from World Wise Global Schools at a conference in Dublin.
The prize is awarded to schools demonstrating dedication to fostering global awareness.
Students and staff at Villiers held a number of events throughout the year, including Irish Traveller Ethnicity Day, International Women’s Day, and Human Rights Day.
Having previously won the Silver Diplomatic award, Head of School Jill Storey said the gold award “is a progression of the continuous commitment of our students and staff to international mindedness”.
