Man to appear in court following reckless endangerment in Limerick City

A MAN has been arrested and charged and is set to appear in court this morning (Friday May 3) in connection with an incident of public order and reckless endangerment in Limerick City on Tuesday.

The man, aged in his 20s, will appear before Limerick District Court this morning in relation to an incident in which an altercation broke out among a group of people leading to a man being hit by a car, which failed to remain at the scene, on the Hyde Road in Limerick City on Tuesday (April 30).

The man was arrested on Thursday morning (May 2) during a search of a house in the city, where items of “an evidential nature” were seized by officers, Gardaí said in a statement.

During the course of Garda investigations, a follow up search was conducted of a house in Tipperary, where a firearm was seized.

The firearm will now undergo analysis by the Garda Ballistic Unit.
