A SNAP remark by a man who had drink taken cost him dearly when a judge fined him €150 for the outburst.
John Foley (60), of 3 St Ita’s Road Abbeyfeale, pleaded guilty before Newcastle West District Court to an offence under the Public Order Act.
Judge Carol Ann Coolican heard that Mr Foley engaged with another person on May 15 last year on St Ita’s on Road and asked him: “What the f**k are you looking at?”
The third party made a complaint to Gardaí, who then brought a prosecution.
The court heard Mr Foley has two previous convictions.
His solicitor told the court that “he had drink taken. He very much regrets that he reacted like that.”
Judge Coolican fined him €150 for the offence.
