Limerick Opera Festival will share operatic arias in a myriad of venues across Limerick City as part of their third annual festival from May 4 to May 25.
Their motto is “Opera For All” and they are taking the music to the streets of Limerick this weekend.
On Saturday May 4 for Riverfest the Opera Festival will move throughout the city with four free on-street performances.
Colbert Station @ 12.30pm; The International Rugby Experience @ 13.30pm; Arthur’s Quay Shopping Centre @ 14.30pm and Lower Thomas Street @ 15.30pm.
Each performance will see three soloists, Ami Hewitt (Soprano), Seán Tester (Tenor) and Matthew Mannion (Bass/Bass-Baritone)and a supporting accompanist, Irina Dernova giving the public a wide selection of some of the more popular operatic pieces.
“Weather may sometimes drive us indoors but is no less enjoyable as the event remains impromptu and a very personal experience for everybody who is lucky enough to be in the area.
“The Limerick Opera Festival is seeking to foster a spirit that recognises and celebrates Limerick’s operatic past and brings those beautiful creations into our future, by bringing opera to all.”
