THREE men are to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court today (Saturday) in connection with a Garda raid in Limerick City that led to the seizure of up to €300,000 worth of cannabis.
€300,000 worth of cannabis and cannabis plants was seized in yesterday’s planned Garda operation at a residence on Clare Street in Limerick City, along with €10,000 in cash.
The raid took place shortly before midday on Friday when armed Gardaí using a battering ram assisted drug squad officers in gaining entry to the property.
Four men were arrested at the premises and held under the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act, 1996.
Three men have since been charged in connection with the raid and will appear this afternoon before a special sitting of Limerick District Court.
The fourth man, according to a Garda statement, “a male in his 60s, remains detained under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Limerick Division”.
