HOLDERS Munster are up to third in the United Rugby Championship (URC) table following a brilliant 27-22 bonus-point win over Bulls at Lofus Versfield, preserving their unbeaten run for the club in South Africa.
In front of around 13,000 largely home supporters, the visitors led 17-10 at the end of an entertaining opening half where the lead changed hands a few times.
Munster had tries in the opening period through Shane Daly – his 15th for the province -and RG Snyman (against his former club), with Jack Crowley, subsequently named Player of the Match, perfect from both conversion attempts and he also added a penalty.
Munster lost Craig Casey to injury when 22-17 adrift, an incident for which Bulls had a player red-carded.
John Hodnett soon levelled and close to the finish, Garryowen’s Conor Murray crossed for a lovely five-pointer.
Munster take on the Lions in Johannesburg next Saturday.
