Handball success for Limerick

STEPHEN McInerney of Bohemore has clinched the All-Ireland Diamond (over 60) Handball Championship at at the National Handball Centre, Croke Park.

His thrilling contest with James Mythen (Meath) went to a tie-breaker, with McInerney eventually coming through 11-8.

In the Emerald Final (over 55), Donal O’Connor of Cappagh lost a tough tussle to Tom Sheridan, Meath.

In the Ruby Final (over 65), Tomás Donegan (Galbally) was narrowly beaten by Michael Rossiter, Wexford.

All three Limerick players had come through a difficult Munster Championship to qualify for Dublin.
