Over €200,000 awarded to Limerick outdoor infrastructure schemes

OVER €200,000 in funding has been awarded to County Limerick from the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.

Eight Limerick projects were allocated funding ranging from almost €11,000 to €30,000.

The funding was announced by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys.

Among the Limerick projects to receive funding are Castleconnell Village Steps (€30,000), Broadford-Ashford Walking Trails (€10,098), the project for the reinstatement of the old community walk in Ballyorgan (€30,000), enhancement works to Ahnagurra Trail and Griston Bog (€29,064), and Ballyhoura Development’s Donkey Sanctuary (€27,000).

Limerick Fine Gael Minister Patrick O’Donovan urged the public to “get outdoors and see what rural Ireland has to offer”.
