ICO is back on the road

German violinist Carolin Widmann comes to Ireland with three iconic works performing at St. Mary’s Cathedral on Thursday April 11.

IRISH Chamber Orchestra are back on the road visiting Tallaght, Limerick, Newport Co. Mayo, and Wexford from the 10-13 April.

The dynamic ensemble tours regularly to multiple venues across Ireland, as well as at some of the most prestigious halls in the world.

From playing the classics, to performing with theatres, operas, DJs, or dance companies, ICO forges new pathways to bring their audience unforgettable experiences.

German violinist Carolin Widmann is a rare breed. She maintains a top-flight career in Europe and in the UK and comes to Ireland with three iconic works. Mozart’s much-loved Eine Kleine Nactmusik demands to be listened to with playful animation. Moving between gracefulness and grandeur, it will seduce and enchant audiences.

We can only marvel at the brilliance of Bach. His first Violin Concerto, an all-time favourite, has one of the most arresting of openings, a stunning slow movement, and a fantastic finale. Here, Widmann demonstrates her virtuosity as individual notes are rapidly delivered with lightning-like brightness against ICO’s seductive string backdrop.
