Pike Rovers will entertain Cockhill Celtic (Donegal) in a glamour semi-final of the FAI Junior Cup at Jackman Park on Sunday (1pm).
Centenary finalists a couple of years ago, Premier League leaders Pike have been installed as slight underdogs to qualify for another decider but will relish this opportunity to upset the form book.
Of late, The Hoops impressed greatly in the 6-0 demolition of Ballymun United (Dublin) while Robbie Williams’ side needed a penalty shoot-out to edge past Regional United. The side have also accounted for Lucan United (Dublin), Castlebar Celtic (Mayo), Athlunkard Villa, Lisnagry, and Parkville to reach the last four of this prized competition.
Pike’s challenge again will be led by Gary Neville, Pat Mullins, Adam Lipper, Steven Bradley, Conor Coughlan, and Shane Clarke.
The other semi-final involves outright favourites Villa FC (Waterford) – who beat Pike in the 2022 Final – and Gorey Rangers (Wexford).
May 5 is the listed date for the Final.
In the Ger Ryan (Youths) Cup Final, Pike edged-past Regional United 2-1, with a later winner from Aaron Cusack.
