LIMERICK’S Johnny Murphy has been appointed to referee the Allianz National Hurling League Final between Clare and Kilkenny at Semple Stadium, Thurles on Saturday (7.15pm).
The experienced Glenroe official has refereed plenty of other national finals over the years, including the 2018 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Final, the 2021 All-Ireland U20 Final, and the 2023 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship Final.
This weekend’s final is a ‘winner on the day.’
Limerick will face Clare in the opening round of the Munster Championship at Cusack Park, Ennis on Sunday fortnight (2pm).
