Limerick judge warns driver that failing trailer test “not an option” in order to avoid conviction

Judge Patricia Harney

A DRIVER who is hoping to pass his test for pulling a trailer had better get it right first time, a judge has warned.

Sean Moloney (33) of 2, McCann Place in Cashel, County Tipperary, was stopped by Gardaí while pulling a trailer behind his car at a checkpoint in Limerick and prosecuted for having no licence to pull a trailer.

He admitted the offence of not having the proper licence when he appeared before the District Court sitting in Kilmallock.

After hearing that Mr Moloney is to sit the test for the trailer licence in the coming weeks, Judge Patricia Harney told him that she would adjourn imposing any penalty until April 16.

“Failing is not an option,” Judge Harney warned him.
