GARDAÍ confirmed the seizure of a large haul of cocaine worth an estimated €80,000 in County Limerick yesterday morning (Wednesday).
The seizure was made under Operation Tara, an operation run as part of the national anti-drugs strategy introduced by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris in 2021 to disrupt, dismantle, and prosecute drug trafficking networks.
The cocaine was found during the search of a residential premises in Kileely, County Limerick, on Wednesday morning by Gardaí operating out of the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit.
One man, aged in his 50s, was arrested during the course of the seizure and is currently detained at a Garda Station in County Limerick.
According to a statement by Gardaí, the drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
